Artificial spruce is a great alternative to living trees. Today, many acquire a fluffy beauty for the New Year, but as well as, most importantly, where to remove the artificial Christmas tree after the holidays is a question that can be confusing. For it to serve for a long time, it is important to follow the rules of care and maintenance. It is necessary to remove toys, a garland and tinsel, to clean twigs from dust, and only then put it in a box. The disassembly method depends on the type of mount. Read the detailed instructions below.
Training
The very first thing that needs to be done, having enjoyed the view of the New Year’s beauty in plenty, is to remove all the jewelry from her. Do not be lazy to clean up to the last toy. Otherwise, during storage, the twigs and needles are deformed from gravity. Gently fold the Christmas decorations in a separate box or bag.
Next, you need to clean the tree from dust. During the holidays, hundreds of tiny particles of dust settle on needles, which can subsequently cause respiratory diseases and allergies. Therefore, this step cannot be skipped.
Cleaning can be done in different ways:
- With a vacuum cleaner. The fastest way to remove dust from an artificial Christmas tree is to walk from top to bottom with a vacuum cleaner. Use minimum power so as not to damage the needles.
- Using wet wipes. You can use alcohol-soaked wipes. They not only remove dust, but additionally disinfect the product. Wrap a twig at the base with a napkin and stretch along the entire length. Change wipes as they get dirty. Wipe the branches sequentially so as not to get confused which ones have already been cleaned and which are not.
- Using a soapy solution. Can be diluted in 2 liters of warm water 1 tbsp. teaspoon of washing powder or shampoo, soak a cloth and wipe the twigs in the same way as with napkins. However, in this case, you need to dry the product well.
Artificial spruce contains metal inserts that may rust. Manufacturers do not recommend abundantly wetting it with water. If you nevertheless bought a Christmas tree, you need to dry it before placing it in storage.
Disassembly
Instructions for assembling an artificial Christmas tree are almost always attached to the product, but for disassembling it is not. To do this correctly, you need to consider the type of construction:
- Articulated. Disassemble the trunk of the tree. As a rule, it consists of 2-3 parts. Grasp the top of the trunk and pull up. Then disconnect the next part.
- On the hooks. Fir branches are attached to hooks, which are inserted into grooves located on the trunk. To remove them, you need to take the base of the twig and pull it up. Dismantling begins with the top of the tree.
- With unbending branches. The simplest type of construction. The barrel may consist of several parts that are taken out of each other. But more often this spruce is whole.
You can store the artificial Christmas tree assembled. The manufacturer admits this. The main thing is how to pack the product and choose the right place.
To disconnect the tripod, you need to unscrew the mounts at the base of the trunk. After that, the part itself is disassembled - the legs are removed from the glass. You need to pull them down or knock them out lightly. Do not try to twist your leg, otherwise you will break the groove.
To make the artificial Christmas tree take up less space, its branches are pressed tightly against the trunk. Correctly do this from top to bottom. Branches with processes are first collected in a circle, and then pressed to the top. As a result, the product is reduced 5-6 times.
Packaging
With the exception of the articulated spruce, the assembled branches do not require additional fixation. No need to bandage them with rope, wrap with tape or polyethylene. Due to strong pressure they can be deformed. It is enough to fold the disassembled parts into a bag or box and put into storage.
For a hinged Christmas tree, use a long and narrow bag. Part of the trunk with pressed branches is folded upside down.
We recommend packing the tree as follows:
- Place prepared pieces of spruce in plastic bags.
- Take the big box. At the bottom, put the disassembled trunk and tripod.
- Fold the largest parts of the tree, then the smaller ones.
You can store a Christmas tree without a box, just in a bag. But then it is recommended to install it vertically. You can’t put it on the floor and put other things on top: it is deformed under weight.
Storage
A barn, a cellar, a garage and an unglazed balcony are unsuitable places to store artificial spruce. Temperature extremes and dampness can lead to premature damage to the product, the appearance of mold and rust.
The following conditions must be met:
- protective packaging;
- humidity within 40–70%;
- temperature from +10 to +25 degrees;
- lack of bright light.
In the sun, spruce can burn out. Ideally for its storage, a pantry, a mezzanine, a glazed balcony, a loggia, a wardrobe are suitable.
Spruce - an unchanging symbol of the New Year. Enough enjoying the sparkling beauty, you need to remove the artificial Christmas tree for storage. Follow the rules, and then the product will last as long as possible - 15 years.
